Based in Turkey, Akin Orbay is an artist and producer, firmly set on creating timeless and ground-breaking sound matter. Combining experimental lyricism with alternative electronic music, the Turkish musician draws influence from Radiohead, Aphex Twin and John Hopkins, between others. His latest EP ‘Closing The Gap’ – a collaboration with fellow artists Deniz of the Bees, Bora Varsay and Burcu Gulec – shies away from any coherent labelling attempt, instead pursuing a personal path into electronica’s remote border lands. Haunting synths, scattered beats and giant soundcapes, they all take part Akin Orbay’s convincing EP.

It is inspired both by cutting edge electronic music such as Aphex Twin and Jon Hopkins, and by the storytellers who use that medium like Radiohead and James Blake.
